Christian Falsnaes studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and is currently based in Zurich, where he is a tenured lecturer at Zurich University of the Arts. His practice centers on performance, often involving exhibition visitors whose participation – guided by instructions – becomes integral to the work.
Falsnaes’ works have been presented at institutions including the National Gallery of Denmark, Copenhagen; Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki; Kunsthalle Wien, Vienna; Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin; Centre Pompidou, Paris; ZKM, Karlsruhe; and Manifesta 11, Zurich.
