Cellist Valerie Fritz impresses with her versatile profile and her innovative approach to programming, for which she has received numerous awards. Among others, she was given the Berlin Prize for Young Artists and was nominated as an ECHO Rising Star for the 2025/26 season — an honor that brings her to the leading concert halls of Europe. Valerie Fritz is a regular guest at festivals such as Musikfest Berlin, the Salzburg Festival, the Sommerliche Musiktage Hitzacker, Klangspuren Schwaz, and the Bavarian Radio’s musica viva. Both as a soloist and in chamber-music formations, she cultivates a direct and sensitive dialogue with the audience and seeks close collaboration with composers. Influential artistic encounters with composers such as Georg Friedrich Haas and Jennifer Walshe have resulted in new works written specifically for her, incorporating performative elements such as singing, whispering, or speaking.
Valerie Fritz studied at the Mozarteum University Salzburg with Clemens Hagen and Giovanni Gnocchi.
A particular highlight of her artistic career was her debut with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. Her first CD recording, featuring works by York Höller, Rebecca Clarke and Claude Debussy, was released by NEOS Music in autumn 2025.
